Swala safris gives you an opportunity to participate in different community programs in any of the community of your choice. As a company we run a youth mentorship and skills development program with different local partners (The Art in Me)
The “Art in me” project is an inter-school arts festival that brings together children and youth to celebrate the God given Arts talent in Music, dance, painting, poetry, fashion and so much more. This festival started 8 years a go initiated by
Julius Ssekajja a Ugandan contemporary artist working with Life and Hope, Art in me” has inspired many young talents in Uganda and given many youth work placements in different companies dealing with creative arts, media, fashion and so much more. Children express themselves through arts and building their confidence. Over the years, more than 200 schools have participated in the art in me festival across the country, where both International and National schools share a stage to showcase their talents.
A student awarded winner for the best painting at the Art in me festival Finals which attracted different guests from Uganda and other parts of the world.
Objective of the Art in me youth program;
- To promote and celebrate Uganda and the diversities
- To provide high quality educational and fun entertainment for the whole family
- To create an international forum which provides a variety, relevant, and up-to date information covering a wide cross-section in art education and related career guidance
- To challenge youth to be innovative and creative in purposeful ways; for example, arts can be a tool of communication, a ‘museum’ preserving history or a means of environment conservation
- To increase the awareness of existing art education locally both at national and international level
